The only one I believe in

The last few weeks have been embarrassing for the political class. No one seems qualified to even explain the mess.

But Jim Himes is someone I believe in. Yeah, we might be in different parties, but this guy is as impressive as it gets. And by the way, as a former Goldman banker and current affordable housing developer, he is actually literate in the two issues that are driving the crisis.

And that beats ideology anytime.

McSweeney's: The McSweeney's Joke Book of Book Jokes (Vintage)
All I know is that we read a poem entitled "Diarrhoea." This is the long loved fave by the school aged crew. You'll remember it, trust me. This has a verse saying "When you're reading some Voltaire, and you feel a little tear..." That's all I can say.

Shakespeare comes to Southie. Great look at how venal, corrupt, and self-important the wonderful world of municipal politics can be. Two loathsome guys. Imagine if Tony Soprano were the Mayor's brother. Hideous, but you can't look away.
