Is it a berry tree? Any horticulturalists (sp?) out there? Well, if this looks familiar to you, please write. I have no idea what's in our back yard. All I know is that these little berries have been eaten by both my children and I haven't once had to call the poison hotline.
Late November is rough-- the Halloween Pumpkin is flash-frozen and still looks good, but peer pressure has forced us to break out the Xmas boughs. This is considered stark minimalism in our neighborhood, where the Xmas lights (a) are deployed at the stroke of midnight on Thanksgiving Night, and (b) can be seen from the Hubble Telescope.

Wish I could say I propagated these myself, but sadly they came with the house. They are, however, beautiful nonetheless. Even if they only bloom for about two weeks and then go away for a year. Oh well.
27 inches of snow fell in Omaha in the period of about two weeks. The gutters filled with ice and backed up water started leaking into the house. Where? Right above Pierce's crib.
This is taken off our porch. You can see the Papio trail that runs along the back side of our property. Fun for bicyling (not that we have) and taking walks down to the neighborhood park.
Do you ever ask yourself, "What is a Wall Cloud?" So do we! I won't explain it here. I can't. This photo is just a picture of the skies as they change for an impending SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. This means that if golf-ball-sized hail starts pounding the roof and the sirens go off, head for the basement with a weather radio. A weather radio????
