Miscellaneous Suburban Park, Omaha October 25, 2007
Pierce and his pal. She has sisters but likes to play "Super Heroes" and run around the playground. Also likes looking for sticks to brandish and climb stuff. I'd say it's a fine romance, but I feel there's something much, much deeper. Oh yes.
Gretna, Nebraska October 11, 2007
Here's the boy, ridin' the tracks at a nearby Pumpkin Patch. Fall is in the air.
Bounce U, Omaha NE June 03, 2007
Lily tried to assist, but was cut off at the pass. Pierce continues onward.
Bounce U, Omaha NE June 03, 2007
They're "TRICK" candles. Trick is not to burn the building down. Note the boy's captivation with fire. Oh no.
Bounce U, Omaha NE June 03, 2007
Peace in the Middle East? Sobriety for Lindsay Lohan? Freedom for Paris Hilton? A new Power Ranger DVD?
Home June 02, 2007
We did a cake on his birthday and prezzies, since he kinda got stiffed by Nebraska Dance Recital. This year, the dog did not eat the cake. Then, of course, he got a sweet party, the following day. I believe in turning birthdays into entire weekends if at all possible. It's important to celebrate.
Malibu, CA April 08, 2007
He just loved that gun. Only put it down to have a urinating contest with cousin Truman. Nice.
River City Roundup, Omaha Nebraska October 01, 2006
A somewhat arty shot of the boy in front of a Ferris Wheel. We were waiting for the pony rides. The ponies were taking a break.

Because I never thought we'd get here.
June 2 marks little Piercey's third birthday. What a day. I'm publishing this photo just a little early (bday 6/2), but... only because we have a big weekend ahead and I'm just not sure when I'll get to publishin'. On Friday, we're going to a movie. Saturday we're going to our church Summerfest, which will have a number of themed bouncy castles. Praise be. Then, Sunday, we will join some friends and head to Build-A-Bear Workshop and finally, a birthday lunch. Phew!
Pierce thinks the Wiggles are coming to our house. We keep telling him that the Wiggles are back in Australia and are unable to make it to Omaha for his big day. Now he wants to go to Australia for his birthday. Do you think he'll be let down by Build-A-Bear Workshop?
Front Lawn, Omaha April 06, 2006
The sky is nearly dark. The clouds are looming. It's ominously humid. Looks like a twister be a comin'.
West Papio February 13, 2006
Could it be true? I actually got a photo with a semi smile? It's a miracle.
West Papio Trail, Omaha February 13, 2006
Can't you see that I'm busy digging in the dirt? Plastic sand shovel has been brought on our walk so that pliable mud can be dug up and thrown at Lily. What are little brothers for?
PE 101, Omaha February 12, 2006
What do you mean I can't put my entire fist into the girl's birthday cake and then run like a crazed animal throughout the premises. I no longer come when I'm called. I've been known to just walk out the door of most establishments (when parental attention is averted for a nanosecond). Why? BECAUSE I'M TWO! My favorite phrase is now "No, YOU stink. I nice."
Henry Doorly Zoo January 12, 2006
Omaha's finest at Omaha's finest. Love this photo of my boy
Back Yard, Reno August 25, 2005
Okay... so... the latest culinary craze in both the Blake and Flanigan households are small ice-cream bon-bons called Dibs. They are made by Dreyers and can be located in your grocer's freezer section. Several different flavors, but ours collectively are the mint-choc-chip.
Run. Don't walk. They are delectable... and some might say... ADDICTIVE.
Here, Pierce attempts to reconcile the fact that his hands are dirty, and in need of cleansing with the fact that he'd like to continue eating his little cup of Dibs that Granny-Nanny so sweetly rationed him (very much on the sly from Gramps, who has grown fond of the confection and thus STEALS from the children). Granny-Nanny has to keep the Dibs away from Gramps as his blood sugar is a little high, these days. What, with the Chocolate Cap'n Crunch we saw him sneaking this morning... and then shamelessly blaming on Aidan. Yeah, right.
Have we mentioned the Man-dals?
Marital Bed, Omaha August 09, 2005
Pierce's favorite outfit of all is absolutely his BIRTHDAY SUIT. Running around the house with mom or dad in persuit is his favorite game. Jumping on the bed in his all-together (as the
Brits say) is just too good to be true. Somehow managed to get him to sit still for a nanosecond for this shot. I love my boy.
China and Adrian's Bathtub August 03, 2005
Jacuzzi bathtub... Entertainment for the whole family.
Reno June 26, 2005
This is from Reno... So, technically, it's in the wrong album. It's such a great photo, however. I just had to double book it. Ya know how it is.
Back Yard, Omaha April 20, 2005
Hooray!
Dad is home. Now we can get away from this crazy lady that keeps trying to take our picture. The same one that insists Guacamole is "Good. You'll like it. I swear." Well, frankly, I don't trust her.
Back Yard April 18, 2005
This is little Piercey out in the back yard, chasing his sister around and generally enjoying some time to roam the great outdoors. Like most children, I think, Pierce is very enthusiastic about being outside. He never gets bored. Sometimes he just climbs up on the fence (as pictured) and watches the world go by. He especially likes watching the big boys, from next door, play baseball out in the field behind our house. Have I mentioned how much I love having a boy? It's the best.
Back Yard February 05, 2005
Sheesh, Dad. I'm trying to show you something important and you keep making those weird faces. Of course, I'm going to laugh. Who wouldn't?
Back Yard February 05, 2005
That's a Zoolander reference for all of you who only watch the Discovery Channel and BBC (uh-huh).
Side of the House February 05, 2005
Pierce appreciates implements that are made specifically for his size and stature. This is a toddler-sized broom that he brandishes while Mom and Dad are sipping Martinis, two houses down the street.
Basement Playroom (Ground Zero) January 19, 2005
My pet name for Pierce is Chubba. He's not chubby. Don't know why we've all started calling him that, but it's stuck. Poor guy. Adrian proposes that we try and change it to Mr. C
Front Yard, Omaha November 27, 2004
Dad and Pierce brave the first snow. Shortly after this shot, they went out and hunted bison.
Kitchen, Omaha November 24, 2004
After several threatening letters from the EPA, we finally outgrew the highchair. (We're preparing an inventory of the various foodstuffs compressed into its nooks and crannies, with the help of the Harvard School of Public Health.) And so Pierce is now the proud owner of a beautiful new Euro-toddler chair. Best of all, it wipes clean with a damp sponge.
Family Room, Omaha November 16, 2004
Pierce and I were watching another Nebraska sunset. (Who'd think I'd be saying that after living near the Pacific Ocean?) I think Pierce really looks like Adrian in this picture. People always say so, but how would I know? He's my son.
Neighborhood Park November 08, 2004
God, I thought we were over this, but no.
Driveway October 31, 2004
It's a costume within a costume. Pooh-Bear franchised Bee. It was chosen for its insulation and cuteness factor. Sadly, during our pre-trick/treat photo session, Pierce would not hold still for a portrait. This is all I got.
Dynosaur Park, Omaha October 16, 2004
Lily and Pierce at a nearby park. It's not freezing. So, we're outside.
Vala's Pumpkin Patch October 02, 2004
It's great to be color coordinated with one's environment. Wouldn't you agree?
Vala's Pumpkin Patch October 02, 2004
Pierce shows an early preference for John Deere.

Burger King, Omaha April 16, 2004
Don't call The Department of Child Services on us! Just couldn't pass this photo opportunity up. I can only apologize to my young son who will be immortalized in such an undignified fashion.
Family Room Chez Nous January 07, 2004
Our little son is moving around, now. Here, he plays with and salivates on several toys.
Family Room, Glamaha January 06, 2004
Crawling, did you say? Ah, yes. The party has just begun.
Methodist Hospital, Omaha June 09, 2003
They're so cute when they're sleeping. Welcome Pierce. Our little Cornhusker.
